It Takes Guts

Can you even handle how adorable this little guy is? Meet Patrick Hoopes. Patrick was adopted at one week old by Brian and Emily Hoopes. They were informed that Patrick was born with a rare condition called "Short Gut Syndrome" in which 95% of his intestinal tract is missing. The doctors told the Hoopes that Patrick would only live to be one or two years old without a rare intestinal transplant. The Hoopes felt strongly that they should proceed with the adoption and do everything in their power to raise the money for his transplant. Watch this little segment that Carole Mikita of KSL did on Patrick to learn more:

I would like to help Patrick get that transplant. On Saturday, May 22nd, I'll be sharing the stage with my friends at a benefit concert for Patrick. Here are the details:

  1. Good grief, look at those two little teeth! I'm a little disappointed that no one asked me to perform at the benefit. I play a killer "Yankee Doodle Dandee" with my nose.

  2. Mindy,
Thanks so much for being a part of Patrick's benefit concert. It was a pleasure to meet you and we so enjoyed your performance.
    Best wishes,
    The Prestons
