A Random Story About Falling Asleep On the Job

I am showing you this picture for two reasons: 1.) I have been SO tired lately and 2.) I thought you would want to get a gander at the size of my nostrils.

The funny thing about this picture is, I have no idea where I am, but I apparently fell asleep somewhere in the state of Utah, and one of my kids snapped a picture of me with my phone. Reminds me of the time I fell asleep on the living room floor when my oldest son was a toddler. I was suddenly awoken by a sharp blow to the forehead. When I finally came to my senses, and a feeling of rage began to overtake me, I realized that the little guy had chucked a billiard ball at my head. I totally lost my cool and grabbed him by the shoulders and looked him straight in the eyes while yelling a heated "WHY DID YOU DO THAT???!!!!"

All he could do was quote Sid the Sloth with his adorable lisp, "I CHOOSE LIFE!"

I melted and engulfed that little body in my arms right then and there and told him how sorry I was and that I loved him. In conclusion, I'm not perfect, people. Especially when billiard balls are thrown at my head.

  1. OMG Mindy!!!!! That had to be some awakening! I am happy to know that I am normal!! I often find myself asking for my kids forgiveness, even if it didn't involve a billiard ball!!! You are loved by someone in Arizona

  2. Bwah ha ha ha. I have tears streaming down my face over your boy quoting Sid the Sloth. How perfect?! On the flip side, I'm sorry you got chunked with a billiard ball in the head while sleeping. Ouch!

  3. That is so dang funny. Sometimes kids come up with the best way to disarm us, don't they?

  4. That makes me laugh.

Drove home to Portland from SLC yesterday....in one long drive. Listened to your music for the majority of the time and my mom fell in love with you as much as I have.

  7. So I haven't clicked over here in a while and I did tonight. HOLY HAIRCUT! So adorable. And so brave of you. I don't know how well my mental state would fare if I cut off that much of my hair.
